Cotton organdy is a sheer, lightweight, plain-weave textile renowned for its remarkable crispness and structural volume. It is the stiffest of all sheer cotton fabrics, offering a delicate, translucent appearance without the fluid, limp drape of materials like chiffon or voile.
- Crisp Structure: Organdy has an unmatched ability to hold a shape, fold, or crease. It naturally stands away from the body rather than clinging to it, making it ideal for architectural silhouettes.
- Sheer Translucency: Similar to organza (its silk or synthetic counterpart), it allows a significant amount of light to pass through, making it perfect for layered visual effects.
- Breathability: Because it is made of 100% natural cotton, it remains highly breathable and comfortable against the skin, offering a distinct advantage over synthetic sheers that trap heat.
- Matte Finish: Unlike the shiny surface of silk or polyester organza, cotton organdy has a completely matte, understated finish.
